HISTORY

Blades of Steel: Forged in Chaos, Conserved in Metal

The story of Blades of Steel began in 2020, amidst the challenging landscape of the global pandemic. What started as a creative refuge and an exercise in resilience soon took shape under the vision of Yara Haag. Developing lyrics and conceptualizing the band's identity, Yara initially worked alongside Bil Martins to lay the groundwork for what would become a rising force in the Brazilian Metal scene.

Building the Identity (2022)

While the foundations were laid in 2020, it was in 2022 that the flame truly ignited and the first compositions began to breathe. To transform the vision into a visual reality, Yara reached out to Rafael Romanelli, who not only created the artwork for the debut release but also became an active member and a key contributor to the songwriting process.

The lineup grew stronger with the arrival of Jonas Soares, a long-time musical partner of Romanelli, and drummer Marcelo Oliveira, completing the first official Blades of Steel formation.

The Debut Album and Critical Acclaim

With the essential support of the Metal Relics label, the band entered the studio in 2023 to immortalize their sound. Production was led by Rafael Augusto Lopes (renowned for his work with Crypta), ensuring high-quality sonics during the recording sessions at the famous Casanegra Studio.

Between 2024 and early 2025, the band navigated significant transitions and released three impactful singles as a preview of their power. In February 2025, the full album was released digitally, followed by a physical launch at the iconic Hangar 110 in São Paulo.

High-Profile Collaborations and Evolution

A milestone of 2025 was the release of "Riders of the Night", featuring a special guest appearance by Prika Amaral of the world-renowned band Nervosa. This collaboration solidified the band's presence in the metal scene and expanded their global visibility.

As any journey of steel is forged by fire, structural changes occurred to further strengthen the project. Rafael Romanelli transitioned to focusing exclusively on the creative essence and composition alongside Yara Haag and Jonas Soares. For the frontline, Blades of Steel renewed its energy with the addition of Arthur Duarte (guitar), Pedro Paulo (bass), and Pedro Verdone (drums).
