Lineup Changes – Blades of Steel

The Cycle of a Band is Made of Riffs, Stages, and Intense Connections — but Also of Transitions. This Week, Blades of Steel Lives One of Those Emblematic Moments: Officially Announcing the Departure of Bruno Carbonato and Rafael Romanelli, While Welcoming Guitarist Mirella Caramelo and Drummer Lucas Balera, Marking a New Phase in Their Journey.

Farewell to Two Pillars

Bruno Carbonato, who has been present at important moments of the band, is no longer part of Blades of Steel’s lineup. One month after his backstage departure, the band officially announces the news with gratitude and respect:

“We sincerely thank Bruno for the time he spent with us — his contribution was fundamental to our journey so far. He will always be remembered as an important member of the band. We respect his decision to follow other paths and wish him great success in his future projects.”

The decision came due to scheduling conflicts, as Bruno is actively involved in other musical projects and bands, making it unfeasible to keep up with Blades’ current pace.

Rafael Romanelli, although never an official member of the lineup, has been much more than that from the beginning.

“Anyone who truly knows the band’s history knows Rafa has always been there. A great friend, tireless supporter, essential for Blades to exist. We knew this moment would come from the start. And it has arrived.”

Rafael continues his work with the band Zumbis do Espaço, and the intensity of schedules and divergent paths made it impossible to maintain the connection on stage. Still, he remains behind the scenes, composing and creatively collaborating with the band.

“We continue together, even if in different forms. Rafa is and always will be part of Blades’ essence.”

New Winds, New Voices

Amid farewells, Blades of Steel is reborn with strength and purpose by announcing two new members who bring technique, energy, and representation to the band.

On guitar, the arrival of 16-year-old Mirella Caramelo is a milestone. Young, talented, and already carrying the posture of a veteran, she represents a new generation of women in metal — standing out as both a promise and a reality.

“As a woman in metal, I know well the challenges we face on this path. Now that I have my own band, I want to open space for other talented musicians like her — so their journey can be lighter, fairer, and full of opportunities,” said Yara Haag, Blades’ vocalist.
“Mirella, I’m immensely happy to have you by our side. May the gods of metal strengthen you in this new phase.”

Completing the new lineup, the band welcomes Lucas Balera, an experienced drummer with respected passages through the national scene. Lucas’ arrival injects energy, technique, and a new pulse into Blades of Steel’s sound.

“His arrival marks a new chapter in our journey. We’re excited to share this moment with all of you — on stage, in the riffs, and in the beats to come.”

A New Era

With the announced changes, Blades of Steel’s new lineup is officially complete. The group, which released the single “Riders of the Night” last month featuring Prika Amaral (Nervosa), remains steadfast in its mission: to keep heavy metal alive, combative, modern, and honest.

To the fans, the message is clear: the blades stay sharp. And ready for the next strike.
